Webinar // What Role Does Artificial Intelligence Play in (Open) Science?

  • Event type: Webinar
  • Dates: March 26, 2026
  • Schedule: 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
  • Location: Online

The development of generative artificial intelligence is profoundly changing our relationship with the production and dissemination of knowledge.
These technologies challenge the ability of research to produce reliable content, organize its validation, and disseminate it openly and freely to the widest possible audience.
How can we understand the tensions surrounding the development of generative artificial intelligence? Do we need to rethink how we open up science in the age of artificial intelligence? How should we respond to these profound changes in our practices of reading, writing, and disseminating research?

Madeleine Géroudet is the head of the Research and Researcher Services Department at the University of Lille’s Libraries and Learning Center.

As part of UM’s Open Science policy, UM’s Research Support Team is launchinga series of webinarsfor the scientific community.

Theseshortworkshops(20 to 40 minutes of presentation followed by a discussion period) will alternate between theoretical presentations and practical demonstrations on Open Science, scientific publications, and research data.
