Webinar // ORCID
ORCID, which stands forOpen Researcher and Contributor IDentifier, is an international system that allows research staff to create a unique and permanent digital identifier (ORCID ID) to distinguish themselves unambiguously. The ORCID profile has thus become an essential part of a researcher's digital identity and accompanies them throughout their career. In 2025, UM is launching a campaign to encourage the creation and maintenance of ORCID IDs by offering to certify UM researchers' accounts.
After a brief theoretical introduction, this webinar will show you how to create your ORCID ID and set up your profile, leveraging interoperability with databases (HAL, Crossref, etc.) to enrich your list of publications.
As part of UM's Open Science policy, UM's research support team is launchinga series of webinarsfor the scientific community.
Theseshortworkshops(20 to 40 minutes of presentation followed by discussion) will alternate between theoretical input and practical demonstrations on open science, scientific publications, and research data.
