Webinar // APC and Other Open Access Publishing Methods
If you’ve considered publishing in open access, you’ve most likely already heard of APC, or “Article Processing Charges”: some publishers do indeed allow scientific publications to be made available in open access in exchange for publication fees.
This funding model is extremely costly and difficult to sustain in the long term. However, there are alternatives—less well-known to researchers—for publishing in open access without having to pay publication fees.
The webinar aims to explain how APCs work and to present these alternative solutions.
As part of UM’s Open Science policy, UM’s Research Support Team is launchinga series of webinarsfor the scientific community.
Theseshortworkshops(20 to 40 minutes of presentation followed by a discussion period) will alternate between theoretical presentations and practical demonstrations on Open Science, scientific publications, and research data.
