Webinar // Why and how should researchers manage their digital identity?

  • Event type: Webinar
  • Dates: March 17, 2026
  • Hours: 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
  • Location: Online

In a context of rapidly expanding scientific literature, managing one's digital identity is a strategic challenge for all researchers.
After discussing the origins of this exponential growth, we will look at the elements researchers can use to build their identity: persistent identifiers, IdHAL, ORCID accounts, online CVs, and social networks.
This webinar is not a training course: it is more of a comprehensive overview of digital identity.
This presentation can be usefully supplemented with two other more practical webinars: one on creating an IdHAL and HAL CV, and one on setting up an ORCID profile.

As part of UM's Open Science policy, UM's research support team is launchinga series of webinarsfor the scientific community.

Theseshortworkshops(20 to 40 minutes of presentation followed by discussion) will alternate between theoretical input and practical demonstrations on open science, scientific publications, and research data.
