New three-year agreement negotiated by the Couperin consortium

In early 2026, a new three-year agreement negotiated by the Couperin consortium was signed by the University of Montpellier.

However, this new “publish and read”agreement with an Open Science component now covers only publication fees in the publisher’s hybrid journals for authors affiliated with the University of Montpellier (with no annual quota). A 10% discount is, however, available for publishing in Gold journals, which are excluded from the agreement; in this case, authors must request funding from their research units to cover the article processing charges (APCs) (averaging around €2,000 at Wiley).

The UM Open Science team is available to answer your questions about this agreement and to assist you with the publication process, with the aim of promoting more sustainable and ethicalopen accessmodels, particularly through the Diamond model.
