UM simplifies administrative tasks for researchers with ORCID

The University of Montpellier is launching a major campaign to encourage the use of ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) identifiers among the faculty members it employs, through a personalized mailing.

The aim is to improve the visibility and recognition of these researchers, in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education, and Research. ORCID is a unique, permanent, portable, and free international digital identifier that allows each researcher to be identified separately. It strengthens digital identity by linking publications, affiliations, grants, and other professional contributions to a single profile.

To give even more weight to the ORCID identifiers of its faculty members, UM proposes to certify their membership, thereby increasing the confidence of publishers and funders in these profiles.
