UM Simplifies Administrative Work for Researchers with ORCID

The University of Montpellier is launching a broad initiative to encourage the use of the ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) among the faculty members it employs, through a personalized email campaign.

The goal is to improve the visibility and recognition of these researchers, in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education, and Research. ORCID is an international, unique, permanent, portable, and free digital identifier that allows each researcher to be identified individually. It strengthens digital identity by linking publications, affiliations, grants, and other professional contributions to a single profile.

To further enhance the credibility of its faculty members’ ORCID identifiers, UM offers to certify their affiliation, thereby increasing publishers’ and funders’ confidence in these profiles.
