Articles on data in the social sciences and humanities, societal issues, and methodological innovations: call for papers

The editorial board of the journal  Data & Corpus, an interdisciplinary data journal for the social sciences and humanities, invites members of the research community to submit adata paper for publication in its first issue, which will be released in the fall of 2025.

On March 31, 2025, a study day will be held at the MSH of the University of Lorraine – CNRS, where the selected articles will be presented.

Thematic areas

  • The production of data in the context of participatory research or action research, in line with the "Science with and for society" (SAPS) certification process.
  • Methodological innovations in the humanities and social sciences in a changing socio-technical context (digital humanities, artificial intelligence)

Proposals for papers

  • Approximately 5,000 characters (including spaces and excluding bibliographies), in .odt, .docx, or .pdf format, in French.
  • Mention of title, last name, first name, email address, status, and institutional affiliation of (co-)authors
  • Brief description of the corpus/dataset discussed in the article;
  • Methodological guidelines
  • Reference to the data warehouse and the PID allowing access to the data (private URL if deposit is in progress)
  • Ideally, focus on the interdisciplinary dimension (data construction or potential reuse)

The calendar

  • Submission of proposals for papers: December 19, 2024
  • Decisions returned to authors: January 31, 2025
  • Study day: March 31, 2025, in Nancy
  • Submission of finalized articles: June1, 2025
  • Publication of the first issue of Data & Corpus in the second half of 2025
