Access to the “Zero embargo green Open Access” program, which allows accepted author manuscripts to be deposited in an open archive without embargo and at no additional cost, and to benefit from a discount on APCs.

As part of the agreement negotiated by Couperin for 2024-2026 and depending on the option chosen by the UM, two possibilities are offered to authors wishing to publish in Open Access:

• Green Route : Thanks to the “Zero embargo green Open Access” program, authorization to deposit the accepted author manuscript (MAA) immediately and free of charge in an open archive.
• Gold Track : The eligible author receives a discount on APC (Article Processing Charges) fees depending on the license type:

Conditions and procedures

With the subscription threshold having been reached for the year 2025, publication in Journal of Applied Physics and Physics of Plasmas is open access and without APC fees for the year for all authors.

APC covered by the national agreement for over 2,000 hybrid and full open access journals. If the journal does not qualify for full APC exemption for the researcher, a 10% discount applies. This is the case for Cell Press, The Lancet and certain scientific society journals.

For non-eligible journals, including The Lancet and Cell Press journals, or in the event of exhaustion of the rights stock, immediate open access publication becomes chargeable but is optional; in this case, the price benefits from a 10% discount.

Contents of the agreement

• Three-year agreement (2025-2027);
• Unlimited publication in 55 hybrid journals and 21 full OA journals;
• CC BY 4.0 license by default for publication;
• The types of publications concerned are: articles, occasional articles, reviews or letters (concerning research work or reviews). For the journal Reports on Progress in Physics , only original research articles are eligible;
• The publication must be accepted for publication within the term of the contract (the date of submission of an article does not determine the article's eligibility).

For RSC hybrid magazines, APCs are covered by the national agreement up to a negotiated ceiling for the whole of France. Once the ceiling is reached, a 15% discount is automatically applied to APCs. For full open access journals, a 15% discount is applied to APCs.

Sign the article as a corresponding author and be recognized as a research staff affiliated with the UM. RSC recognizes the author's affiliation through the domain of their email address, so it is imperative to use their institutional email address when submitting the article. APCs are covered by the national agreement for articles accepted in Wiley and Hindawi-Wiley journals, up to a negotiated ceiling for the whole of France. Once the ceiling is reached, a discount of 15% for Wiley hybrid journals and 10% for Wiley full open access journals is automatically applied to APCs.
