Webinar // Predatory publishers
With the spread of Open Access, two competing economic models have emerged: the diamond model (free to both author and reader) and the APC model (publication fees paid by the author or his institution). Unfortunately, the latter has led to a proliferation of "predatory" publishers. Unscrupulous about the scientific quality of published articles, they represent a trap to be avoided at all costs by researchers.
This presentation will focus on publishers considered to be predatory or in a "grey zone", the phenomenon of predatory conferences and, finally, the more emerging phenomenon of paper mills, driven by artificial intelligence.
This webinar will show you the tools and reflexes you need to protect yourself.
As part of UM's Open Science policy, the UM Research Support Team is launching a series of webinars for the scientific community.
With a short format (20 to 40 min presentation, followed by time for discussion), these workshops will alternate between theoretical contributions and practical demonstrations on Open Science, scientific publications and research data.
